Dre Johanne Sorelle, Podiatrist
For as long as I can remember, I have always wanted to be part of the healthcare system so I could take care of people. However, I began my university career in industrial engineering at the Polytechnique of the University of Montreal. Very quickly, I realized that it was not for me and I changed my program to medical biology. It was in this program that I discovered my real passion for the medical field as well as the skills to be part of it. After obtaining my bachelor's degree in medical biology in 2019, I entered podiatric medicine where I graduated in 2024.
I am known for being meticulous with my patients because, for me, it is important that the patient feels comfortable, listened to, and that they feel my commitment to providing them with quality care. The skills acquired throughout my various educational careers will allow me to achieve my goals. Outside of my professional life, I am passionate about cooking, traveling and TV series. Traveling allows me to discover this vast world we live in, and I find it fascinating how human behavior can be different from one country to another. It’s this difference in cultures, traditions and architecture that fascinates me. Cuisine is also connected to it because while traveling, I discover dishes from elsewhere that I can reproduce in my own way once back in Canada. Patience, respect, empathy, self-sacrifice are values learned throughout my travels and which will serve me in my profession as a podiatrist in order to always put my patients at the heart of what I do.
